My name is Peej and I am being banded (HMO willing) on 4/22/08. I'm sailing thru getting the prereqs done so far but that hasn't stopped me from being nervous! Though, focusing on the insurance requirements has distracted me from being nervous about the actual surgery.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome! I think we all go through the nervousness about surgery. It helped me to focus on the preliminary tests and to try to stay in the moment. If I let myself, I'd have been projecting outcomes of all sorts and getting myself in a tizzy. I'm glad you're here! This is a great place for support. Looking forward to getting to know you also. Hi Peej and welcome. I think it is perfectly normal to have pre-surgery nerves. I knew the Lap Band was for me and was incredibly excited to get it. But just the thought of any type of surgery makes me nervous. But, it is so worth it in the end.
