Hi all- I have been a lurker on this site for almost a year...which is how long it took to go thru Cigna's hoops and then wait for approval. I finally got my band on June 5 and am so excited! Hungry, a little weak, sore and still very gassy - but excited none-the-less.

This site has been a great resource to me ever since Sept 07 when I attended a Journey-Lite seminar.

how was the surgery? did they send you home with pain medicine? Is there any words of wisdom that you can pass on that maybe no one told you about before hand?

Hi Aimerus!

I'm in Houston, also and was just banded on Friday, June 6th at University General Hospital.

I am also a bit hungry and a bit weak. I've been real lucky and haven't had much gas pain... I've been walking and walking hoping not to have much gas pain. My port area is my sorest.

I start my mushie phase tomorrow... and I'm so READY! How are you getting your protein in for the day? I seem to be having difficulty doing that.

Yes, they sent me home with pain meds. I was not prepared for all this gas! I am hearing and feeling things that I have never felt/heard before. PHbbtsttsttttttttttt grrrrrrrrrrrr poooott. Oh, was that me?

I am drinking Isopure though I find it nasty and Special K20 water for protein. I bought protein powder today and will start making some of the shakes the nutritionist told me about.
