Banded Oct/06

Hello all, New to this site. I am from Toronto and was banded October 10/06. I am having trouble seeing results. Not losing as quickly as I would like to. Not eating very much however I know my food choices are not so great!!! I need to drink more water and eat healthier and excersice. I know all of this. What I don't know is how to get myself to the point where I will actualy do it. What can I eat???? I have difficulty eating protein and I can't eat salad. To me those are the two things you eat when you are dieting....Salad and Chicken....salad and chicken....salad and chicken.... Any ideas???? Also...does anyone else have a strange sensation with their teeth and gums when they haven't eaten???? almost like they need to chew something or their teeth will fall out???(am i just crazy???):help:

Jason, this is what my day consists of. Protein shake for breakfast, tuna salad (no bread)or lettuce just tuna, mayo and relish for lunch, lean protein for dinner. I don't eat any carbs. For a snack I eat cheese sticks or yogurt. This day give me about 800-1k calories. I am losing 1 lb a week.

Thanks for the imput Julie. I will try to get myself on a regiment. I do enjoy the protein shake so i will start to drink them again for breakfast. I guess they are better than nothing!! I know I have to stay far away from the carbs...they are evil!! Protein is so difficult to get down. 1 egg and I am done for the entire day. I think it's great to know that this forum exists to help eachother out!
Thanks again!

Hi Jason, its hard to get in 60 grams of protein. I think we can actually survive on 40 grams. I use GNCs protein powder with skim milk and it give me a solid 25 grams for breakfast. I try and eat up the rest during the day but truthfully I would be surprised if I hit 40 grams. Good luck.

Jason, what's the problem with protein??? Meat? Eggs? Cheese? I love that stuff!! Thought all men loved protein. Guess not, huh? What are you eating that is "evil?" What protein shake are you drinking that is not too bad? Good luck. JB

Jason...its tough, I know...I am a slow looser also and I know it is my own food choices and lack of exercise that limits my weightloss...but I try to make small changes here and there...and get out there and exercise...I feel so much better about myself and the scales begin to show my progress.

best wishes :) becky

Hi Jason! I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. Can you eat beans? They have some protein and get pretty mushy. I eat chili a lot. How about fish like tuna or salmon? You should be able to keep down solid protein...do you think you might be filled too tight?

We have a thread for those banded in Ocotber. You should come and say hi! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/october-b...rs-t23737.html
