Question 2 years later

I was wondering if any post op bandsters have considered using Nutrisystem as a help for losing weight. I am 2 years out and at a stand still. I am at a comfortable restriction and dont' wish to have any more but still need to lose more weight. thought maybe someone would have some advantages or disadvantages to trying the system to see if it would help get the last 25-30 lbs off.

I bought a month supply of nutrisystem from one of the home shopping channels. I tried a few of the meals and I didn't like it at all. Everything tasted the same. Fortunately, they let me return it. Because it is expensive. I think I would use low calorie frozen dinners instead. They are definitely more tasty. Since I have been banded, I can eat anything--just a lot less that I did preband.

idiot (cool user name!) I have considered doing Nutrisystems and I think I'd do well on it...but I always come back to what I know, the way I RELALY live, and I can't bring myself to spend the money. I agree with Showboatgirl, stock up on pre-packeaged meals, or cook giant portions and make your own. It takes some effort, but once you get set up, it could work.

I have been logging my food on sparkpeople.com and it's helped me alot. I have spent the last 2 weeks figuring out what keep my numbers (calories, fat, carbs, protiens) in the right proportions. I'm hoping I can get this under control. I'm almost 16 months banded and working on the last 35 or so pounds.

You can do this. A fill would "help" me, but I'm at a eally comfortable level, too and want to make this work without more saline. If I eat right, I can be completely satisfied on 1200 calories a day. Take a look at your intake and see what you are doing, see where you could tweak it. Good luck!

Oh, and welcome to LBT!

I did Nutrasystem and did not care for the food at all. I hear the Jenny Craig food is much better but never gave that a try.

We have something similar called Lite n Easy here and the food is terrific, I have considered it, yes, because its a measured 1200 calories a day and I always lost well on it.

I cant take it for longer than about 6 weeks, its the frozen dinners, but in 6 week blocks it would be effective for me.

The trouble is its so expensive, I just hate spending money on food.
