Vitamin supplements...

Just wondering what everyone or some use as their vitamin supplements. I don't do well swallowing pills and I have tried the Flinstones complete vitamins (3 a day). However I never really remembered them being so nasty. As a kid, we loved them but anyway just looking for more suggestions of the vitamin you take....

I love my nature's plus adult's chewables. They taste like pineapple. You chew one a day. You can buy the 180 count for 23 bucks on amazon right now from 40.

Re: Vitamin supplements...

I take the Centrum Adult chewable vitamin-orange flavor. They are not too bad and can be bought anywhere from Walgreens or Walmart. They are not too expensive and sometimes you can find coupons for $1.00 off. The price is no more than $9. Goodluck!

I use the Centrum chewables as well. I also use Caltrate 600+D chewables, mixed fruit flavors. They're not bad.

Re: Vitamin supplements...

I have a multi I love and fortunately I can still take pills. I do supplement with calcium (per my surgeon, although my multi has the MDR of calcium in it) and for the calcium I talke Citrical Petites.

Is your calcium the citrate or carbonate? I am looking for some good chewables because I have the citracal as advised to get and they are huge to swallow even cut in half and I should take 3 a day!! I need some good chewables, but we have to use the calcium citrate. Where do you get yours? Thanks

Re: Vitamin supplements...

I buy the Walgreens Childrens Chewable Multivitamins (take 2 a day) and they are really yummy! I also have to have a B-12 liquid which is really nasty. I am supposed to take a liquid iron but am having trouble finding it locally and online it's pretty expensive. And the Calcium is the Cictrical (sp?) D or something like that. They are horse pills. I havent started those yet (I know I'm bad with that). I am supposed to "crush" them and since they are so big I just havent really wanted to crush and swallow them.

I eat two multi-vitamin gummy bears. Yummy, makes you want to revert back to a child again...or not. Plus, I take b12, iron tablet, and calcium chews.

I take chewable orange-flavored Spectravite vitamins from CVS pharmacy. They taste great and I have been taking them for almost a year now.

I ordered some calcium citrate wafers from vitaminshoppe.com They have a very good sale on them right now and I heard that they taste quite good. It has to be better than swallowing those citracals!

The citrical petites are pretty small! They are easily swallowed, at least by me! :)

Well my multi vitamin has 1200 but since the body can only handle about 600 mg at a time...
i take 2 in the morning. I have sufficient dairy, with my multi, to make up the difference.
From the bottle (which I just happen to have handy!
a dose is 2 tabs and they have 400 mg of calcium citrate and 400 iu of vitamin d.
Size wise...they are (guessing, don't have any around) "pillow" shaped (not exactly a rectangle) they are about size side to side as an m and m would be...they are a little thicker though. They are really easy to swallow.
I got them on the recommendation of another bandster back when i had just been banded. I can still fortunately swallow ANY pills but these are easy easy.
