| One week out and having very bad lower back pain
Hi everyone, i was banded on March 6, 2008 and though the first few days were the worst of my life, I feel much better and am actually going to work and life has returned to normal (almost). I am still on liquids for another week and then mushies for two weeks. I am finally sleeping semi-normal, the main problem is that my lower back on both sides are killing me. It's a sharp pain that won't go away for most of the day. When i told my doctor a few days ago on our first visit, he said i should keep moving around...I am...but still in pain. Has this happened to anyone else? any sugesstions on what to do? thank you

when you are moving around, are you hunched over due to incision pain? that may be it.

Bibo- I experienced the same symptoms post op. I was miserable for several days- especially my back. I found that because I was guarding my movements it really strained my back muscles. The good news is it got better and once I was able to exercise, I included back exercises that have completely relieved my back pain.
No real advice here, just wanted to encourage you and perhaps suggest some back exercises if you can tolerate them. Good Luck!!

Bibo07,
I was going to say the exact thing as ConnieC. Walk, and get the Gas EX strips. I found them at Walmart.

I am okay for the first half of the day but by about 3:00 I am really feeling it.

Thanks everyone who gave me advice. Today is the first day where it has gotten a little better. But now i realize that I have been hunchback of Kuwait (which is where i live temporarily)...my husband is calling me that. So i am trying to stand up straight. I do feel better when my hubby rubs it but it starts out hurting more then feels better. Thanks everyone!
