Is Metamucil or Benefiber OK with the band?

My doctocr says Metamucil and Benefiber are OK to take after being banded. I've read that smoe doctors say do not use these for constipation. I'm not sure what to do.

My Doctor said I can take Benefiber every day. I've been banded since January and have had no problems so far.

I was having problems with constipation...I use Pericolace now every few days if needed. It is a mild lax with a softener. I find that if I eat things like avocado or things of that nature that I don't have a need for "help"
