Re: Low BMI 36.8 I need support

Hi, I have Cigna and my BMI was about 38. My co-morbidities are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and borderline diabetes. None the less, although I did it all correctly, Cigna rejected me. My doctor had to write a letter and fax it in and then after almost 2 weeks, Cigna finally approved me. This journey is way more work than it should be. Your doctor may have to call Cigna and have a peer to peer review. Be persistant w/ Cigna. Call them daily and ask questions. At some point, they will be helpful.
Best of luck!

Re: Low BMI 36.8 I need support

Hi, my doctor had to write a letter saying he felt like I needed LAP-BAND® and why. Cigna may require that. I finally got banded! August 27th! I had a rough first few days and then finally started to feel more like myself. I went back Friday to have them check my incisions and had lost 15lbs in 16 days. I was thrilled. I am now on mushies.
I truly wish you the best of luck!
Sincerely,
Kathy S.
