You will get a different answer on this from everyone because everyone has to figure out for themselves what to eat! There is no one way to do this, it's as different and individual as you are. There is no post surgery lap band eating list/plan for you to follow!

You must try different things, slowly and carefully, and see what your lap band tolerates well and what you feel full easily on. 4 to 6 ounces is a meal, buy yourself a scale and weigh everything you put in your mouth. If you have protein as a part of your meal, eat it first. That's it! My doctor suggested 800 calories a day if your wanting to loose quickly. The lap band makes that possible; you feel full easily. Your choices after that are up to you. Good, common sense (the lap band is very tight in the mornings, heavy foods like steak don't work well) and counting calories and quantities will work for you now.

Every doctors office is different. What mine tells me is volume is important. Either 1/3cup protein 1/3 vegies 1/3 carbs. Or 1/2 cup protein 1/2 cup vegies. I have not had a fill yet and can eat anything. I hopefully will feel some restriction with my first fill.

You remember you said that you WANTED to fill the restrictions of that fill! LOL! You may think differently afterwards! You must slow down all food intake, eat very, very, very slowly, chew everything really well and in the mornings the band is extremely tight, so liquid breakfasts are the best. It's how we get to our goal, but it's very easy to upset the band and get into pain or other issues. Go slow! Good luck!
