How did you sleep post-op??

I am usually a left-side sleeper. I figure that with the port on the left I won't be able to sleep that way anymore, right? How did you sleep post-op? Was a recliner more comfortable? Was the bed ok if you were on your back? I just want to be prepared! Thanks!

I was able to sleep on my left side after about the fourth night. The first couple of nights I slept on my back/right side, which I just hate. Now I'm back to my left-side fetal position and sleeping like a baby. :)

I was banded on the 17th. I haven't had any problems sleeping yet. Sure, I am sore and tender, but I still can lie on either side. :)

I never really had any problems sleeping from day one. I was afraid I might not be able to sleep on my side (I'm a side sleeper, and mainly left side) but I had no problem at all.

I slept in a recliner for about two days and then I slept on the couch on my right side for about 2 more days then I was finally able to sleep in bed on my right side now i can sleep anyway i want to . I was mostly the getting up from a flat position for 6 days that kept me from sleeping in bed the getting up and down were the main issues as my stomach muscles were very sore. Holding a pillow against my stomch when getting up and down helped a great deal.

Oh, I slept like a baby. Probably shouldve slept on the band but I did, even the night after the surgery (didn't realize this til I woke up) It was a little tender but not too bad!
