| HELP cannot get rid of gas
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was banded on June 10th and look about 6 months pregnant, I cannot seem to pass the gas!!!! I have the shoulder and neck pain, I haven't used any pain medication because I get real nauseous and the pain has been tolorable but the gas is unbearable. I have always had problems passing gas......
Thanks for all your support!!!!

Takes a good week and a half to start to go down.....I think I still have some in the lower part. Hang in there - walk, drink, and do whatever else you have been told.
I took Gas-X strips but can't say they did much, but it couldn't hurt

Try having someone pat your back like a baby. I had my husband do it for me and it helped ALOT. Hope that helps a bit. It does go away in time. Lots of walking too helped me.

I'm so glad you posted this. I had surgery on the 9th and am still having the shoulder pain. I'm not so much bloated anymore and can wear regular pants. I took Phazyme instead of the Gas X. It seemed to do more than the Gas X. I'm just aching with this shoulder pain...God, I hope it goes away very soon. Sometimes it's so bad, it makes me nauseous.

I am also glad you posted this. I was banded on the 10th and feel really good except for the shoulder pain. I have started to walk but unless I walk in the early morn. or late evening it's too hot. It's to be 102 degrees here tomorrow and i was really warned at the hospital to stay out of the heat. I was glad to see how along this gas pain lasted for some. I can't wait to be done with this pain.

I was banded on 5/23 and the gas and bloating pain lasted a good 10 days - 2 weeks, but I'm 3 weeks out and it's gone unless I overeat, in which case it comes back, but only for an hour or two.
I was miserable the first week and not much happier the second, but it is 3 weeks today and I feel 99% back to normal. You will, too.

Wow! Thank you so much to all that replied!!! Every suggestion is great, it really helped seeing how long the gas lasts with others.....it helps us that were just banded that we are "normal" and that this too shall pass.
I know we are all different but there seems to be a rang that everyone falls in and it helps to know.
Thanks, again!!!!!!

City: New Boston State: Michigan | Gas-x Get the gas-x that melts on the tongue and keep it handy. I was banded on May 29 and my surgeon said to use it. Walk and use this stuff and it should help out alot. Hang in there and best of luck. |
