Have Stopped losing

This is my 6 week anniversary with the band. Initially my BMI was 33. I quickly lost 14lb. but since my 1st fill 2 weeks ago-no loss at all. I have kept my calorie intake at 1000 cal. and I excercise everyday for 45 min.
I feel great and am not hungry

Should I eat less or am I eating to little.

Hi Susie1732- I am 3 weeks out and haven't lost anything in a week 1/2. I too exercise and eat about 600 calories a day. I don't get it!

you may want to change the exercise up.

what do you do now?

also, vary your calories, one day do 1200, one day do 900, next do 1000 ... keep the body guessing.

Weight loss often isn't a steady slope, but a succession of steps down after plateaus. If you continue eating less calories than you are burning, you will start losing again.

When you have less to lose, you are going to lose slower. I just got off a two-month plateau, and have lost 3 lb in the last 10 days. I upped my exercise from 45 minutes to an hour a day and really watched my snacking. I eat 1000-1200 calories a day, usually closer to 1200.

I have never heard of such a thing!!! Has this worked for you? I've been reading your blog off and on for the last several months and am so impressed with all of your accomplishments. I would love to know how you reached all of these milestones.

Everyone I have ever talked to, including myself, hit a little plateau 6-12 weeks out. I think your body just needs a little time to catch up. A plateau can never last indefinitely if you are burning more calories than you are ingesting (and getting enough protein to boot).

Also the protein may have a lot to do with it. When I hit my first plateau, I added a daily Isopure drink with 40 grams of protein and I started losing again. I also cut out a lot of the carbs and replaced them with proteins and I really started moving again. The caloric intake did not change, it was more a matter of yogurt & oatmeal being exchanged for eggs, fish, chicken and protein drinks. It also helped to keep me even more full because yogurt and oatmeal went through my system much quicker than the protein.

To break a plateau, different things work for different people but the common theme is to do something a little different . . . whether it be caloric intake, protein intake, modification of exercise regime, etc.

600 calories is way too little and that's not a good thing to do bc all your body will do is hold on to the fat cells thinking it's preparing for starvation mode. I would also say 1000 calories is a bit under too - you'd be amazed at what your body will do when it's fed too little.

Try upping your calories as crazy as it sounds - this might do the trick.

its really worked well for me... in fact, it seems that i drop most of the weight after my high calorie day.

even people on weight watchers do it (google Wendy Plan), or calorie shifting... it works for some, but not everyone... you have to try different things until you find something that works for you.

good luck.

My nutritionist said I should be between 500-600 calories a day right now. I guess I could up it and see what happens. Thanks for the tips!
