Question Drinking Too Much or Big Air Bubbles

I've been doing pretty good since I got banded last wednesday. Today I woke up and as usual I didn't feel like eating. But I made myself stomach something to get the day rolling. Today was the first time since the sugery that I think I got all of my liquids. About 8 pm I started feeling like I was going to throw up. I was trying really hard not too because I don't want to create slipping. So I just started walking around a lot. Then I started burping and started feeling better. Did I drink toooooo much water today, or did I just take in tooooo much air? HELP i don't want this to happen again.

You could be taking in too much air. Someone told me once right after post op to take a drink , exhale then swallow.
It helps get rid of excess air.
Also it could be "left over" Gas from the surgery . Hope you feel better soon .
Also are you drinking from a straw ? Different docs have different orders but my doc says no straws.

I think that was my stupid mistake... My doc said no straws until you learned to sip, but my dad told me later tonight that they help to take in a lot of AIR. I am feeling better with all the burping. But I gotta say I was kinda scared for a little bit. Is it easy for the band to slip?

Straws make me drink faster. So I would stay away from them , im guessing that might have been your issue ?
I drank out of normal cups then like i said took a drink exhaled and swallowed. You almost have to slow down when you drink too .
easy ? I dont know how to answer that ? Does it happen yes. But If you follow the rules its LESS likely to happen . I dont know if anyone really knows why bands slip . But following the rules sure helps prevent them .

air bubbles

I too think I have a problem with the air bubbles. I was banded on May 7th and am having to learn to drink differently. I have another question for you guys---. I thought I read somewhere that someone said when blending a smoothie be careful because it seems to add alot of air bubbles in your drink. I find that true, so how do I blend up a fresh fruit smoothie w/protein in blender with out all the foam. It seems like the foam stays forever. I can go back after an hour or so and its still there. With all the foam or fluff in it, it seems to bloat me up worse. I feel worse instead of better after my protein drink.

I have not heard that but I never drank or made Smoothies .
Have you tried just using the " chop" mode or something in the blender or "pulsing " it ?
instead of full out blending ?
Also there are those wand blenders I dont know if those are any better or not ?
I would think Pulsing it might help a bit ?
