OK, so i'm pregnant. some of you may have read my thread from the beginning of february where my doctor said i would need fertility drugs and that i needed to hurry to try to have one and then get a hysterectomy.
well, i haven't had a period since my surgery, and now i'm pregnant. and i tested negative the beginning of last month (i had one positive, but a negative blood and a negative dr. urine).
so, here i am...lost 20 lbs in the past 4 or so weeks, and now i'm pregnant...and i'm not hardly eating anything at all.

congrats on the pregnancy!!!
how is your fill level? what does your OB / band doc say about a slight unfill if you cant really eat much?
(i have no idea what the rule of thumb is for fills and preggers ... i cant seem to carry ... yet...)

i have a daughter with pcos and i am soooooo happy to hear you are pregnant. congratulations!!! enjoy every minute of your pregnancy. please dont worry about not eating much in the past 4 weeks, the baby takes all the nutrients that it needs from the mother. so if anyone goes lacking its the mother before the baby. i had 2 very overweight friends that lost weight through diet and eating right ALL the while that they were pregnant and had beautiful healthy babies. you really dont have to eat for two, its just a good excuse. God bless you.

Congratulations! How exciting! It just goes to show that weight loss can do wonders for us PCOSers. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 8 yrs (I've had it for longer than that though). I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago doing the atkins diet. We had been trying for a long time previous to the weight loss. I lost a total of 50lbs and before I knew it, I was pregnant. I now have a 2 year old son. I know it had everything to do with losing weight.
Congrats again and keep us posted on how you are doing!

God bless you. | I agree with that. I was still very overweight when I was pregnant and I only gained 20lbs and most of that was swelling and retaining fluid. I was on bed-rest for the last month of my pregnancy because I was soooo swollen. I didn't have gestational diabetes, but I made sure I ate pretty healthy. My son was a healthy 8lbs. 2oz, so I agree, you don't have stuff yourself for the baby to get enough nutrients.

thank you guys. i haven't had my first doctor's appointment yet, but i did ask my band doc. they said they used to unfill for every pregnancy and the women would gain 100 lbs. being obese, my ideal weight gain is 15 lbs. so, i'm going to try to stick with thtat. i think i've been preg for at least the past month and i've lost 20 lbs. i've read that you need to eat 2200 calories when pregnant.
i can't wait to meet with my ob/gyn to find out minimum calorie requirements and protein requirement.
i know that the baby takes it from the mother, but it still worries me. my first son is 7 now, but i didn't know that i was pregnant until i was 4 months (i didn't have periods then, and i didn't have them this time either..crazy huh?) well, i was struggling with anorexia again, so i wasn't eating then either. when i got pregnant i was fine with eating, but i only gained the recommended weight (i was not heavy then). my baby turned out healthy-ish too. he was jaundice really bad and got down to 3 lbs, but they never said that was due to early diet.
my band doc called last night and told me to do what i can to avoid throwing up. so, i'm sticking with protein drinks and solid proteins in the evening for now. hopefully i'll be getting enough nutrients and vitamins from my prenatal.
