Hi July5forme! Think HEALTH, try to tell yourself that you deserve to be healthy in years to come. If you focus only on your looks you might fall by the wayside. I read a really good book that said that health is the only successful motivator and that it is helpful to imagine being able to play and enjoy grandchildren, enjoy having a full life, with whatever that means for you. I have lent the book to someone and have forgotten the name of the lady author. I will post the details as soon as I get it back because it is really good and was a great help for me. It is called Say Goodbye to overeating and is written by an American phsycologist, which would normally scare me off. I bought it on Amazon.

I just got my letter to take to my "huisarts"....local doctor. I make an appointment for him to do the inital glucose tests, and assessment of family risk, etc. That goes to a surgeon, who does the surgical assessment...from there, who knows?? But, I have taken the first step, and cannot wait to join the 100 pounds lost club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this forum! It is so inspirational to hear how successful you all have been. I am just starting the process. I was going to have RNY because I had so many - 17 coworkers have it and very little complications. Then one of our coworkers had the RNY in Jan. 2006 and intubated and in ICU by the end of the week. She died in early July 2006 never having left the ICU. I have three little girls and I just can't risk it. I chose the Lap Band based on your successes and the fact that only one person has died so far from the Band in the US and that was because it was placed wrong. Keep up the great work. I am quietly reading and absorbing your wisdom and strength so that I can do this too. Thank you, Meg.

I'm not very math oriented....but I think there are 2.2 pounds in a kg...so that would be approximately 99-100! YAY for you!....welcome to the club!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
