Weight loss is getting harder

I've made lots of changes to my lifestyle since being banded and follow my dr's rules 100%. However, the weight isn't dropping off the way it was.

I just had a fill on 3/21 leaving me with 1.7 cc's in my 4 cc band, and my restriction pattern is odd, I'm very tight in the Am and can eat a lot at night( when in the past I was restricted 24/7).

I've lost 102 lbs in the last 8 months, but in the last 10 days my scale hasn't budged at all... I think this might be the start of a plateau

What can I do that will help to get my scale going down ? thanks!

You've lost an average of over 12. 5 pounds a month, that's really good. Once you've lost weight it takes fewer calories to maintain your new lower weight, so it will take even fewer to continue to lose at the same old rate.

It just doesn't usually work like we want it to. Most of us have periods where the weight loss slows down or stops for several weeks, it's just normal, as much as we all hate it to be.

Now after all saying all that, you could do a day or two of liquids, that can jump start the scale.

It's a fact........the first 100 are 'easy' compared to the next. They seem to come in 'clusters' and come pretty slow....require lots more exercise and lots more elimination of starches from your diet. I'm stuck at 'minus 160' and these last 60 have been hard earned.

I'm just coming off a plateau that lasted 6 weeks. You are way ahead of me in weight loss, so I don't have much advice other than have patience. Oddly enough, I have noticed that even if the scale says I'm not losing, I may drop a clothing size. Sometimes I think my body just needs to stop and regroup, then it continues on its weight loss journey.

Lisa:

You may want to try kicking up your exercise for a few days to see if that helps. Also, write down everything you are eating to make sure your calories are 1200 or below. Another thing to try is listed in a reply above, try all liquids for a couple of days.

I find that I can stay the same for a week and then all of a sudden my body lets go of a pound or two.

Good luck.

Sue

Congratulations on losing the 100 pounds.

I am coming off a six week plateau where I gain and lost the same 2 pounds.

Perhaps your body is adjusting.

I firmly believe with others that the first 100 seem to come off with a great deal of consistency.

The remaining weight to lose will take longer so just hang in there.

Are you getting smaller in size? In the many diets I've been on, it seemed as if when I was losing weight, my clothes really didn't change much. When I was on a plateau, I dropped in size. I had lost a lot of weight on Atkins when it was all the rage and at one point, I hit a long plateau. Disappointing, but I went from a size 24 to a size 20 during those weeks! Imagine my surprise when I went to get some new slacks because mine were too big and when I put on the 22's they were huge!
During 5 weeks I lost 2 pounds and 2 clothes sizes!

Thanks for the advice !!

I think I need to up my exercise. What burned calories when I started probably is not intense enough anymore(walking).

I never learned to like exercise ( like a lot of bandsters do) I just do because I know it is part of the lifestyle makeover that we all need to do

It would be great if I could lose inches, I have been wearing the same pants size for the last 30 lbs
