returning to work

I am looking at lap banding and how soon after your surgery can you return to work? I am a registered nurse and am on my feet alot.

Well, everyone has a different recovery experience. Some go easy and fast, some don't, LOL!!! As for myself, I had a very easy and fast recovery. I was back to work on day 5, although I probably could have gone back on day 4.

IMO, if you're on your feet a lot you probably want to give it at least a week before you return, maybe even more. I had surgery on Wednesday and went back to work on Monday, but I have a desk job that's not terrifically demanding. Even so, by the end of the day for the first week I was pretty wiped out. I couldn't have imagined having to spend the day on my feet and running around all over the place.
