Restriction

I am 5 weeks post-op and have not had a fill yet - have been worried about having no restriction at all then the last few days feel more restriction - this may be a stupid question but why would I have more restriction 5 weeks out and one week before my fill or is it related to something other than just how post-op I am. It is hard to get a handle on this because sometimes I feel like I am able to eat the same amount of food but then yesterday couldn't eat a piece of banana and same thing today had to spit it out. Thanks!

I had my first fill last monday, and to be honest, I had more restriction before I had the fill than after. My doctor said that it was due to the fact that I was still in the healing process and the swelling was my restriction. But as far as not having restriction, and then without having a fill, having restriction, I don't know. It sounds like you should see your doctor. I don't think that it's anything to worry about, though, because they told me that if I stayed hungry or gained weight, that the band may have slipped, but that is not the case with you, so I don't know.

nothing to worry about what you are describing is delayed restriction... no idea why it happens but it does.. the third week after my last fill i finally felt a slight restriction, it lasted two days and went away . I know a woman who has had the band for several years now and has lost all of her weight and she says that some days she can eat anything and others nothing it just changes almost daily

I am certainly no expert but it might be something you are eating also. As for me, I can't eat scrambled eggs without feeling restriction the rest of the day. Oatmeal is another thing that does it to me. Breakfast foods are really hard for me. My Doctor also suggested that I drink something hot in the morning to open up the band. I am 10 weeks post-op and just got my second fill Monday and I am just now finding out what real restriction really is.... LOL Hope this helps you some. Have a good day....
