Pregnancy

We are wanting to plan a pregnancy and would like to know if anyone has had a baby with the band and if so did u have any complications and did you have to remove your fill? My doctor says you don't have too, but I just don't get that. But I've lost 80 pounds and am so terrified in gaining alot of weight back. HELP !!

The band is deflated for the entire 2nd and 3rd trimester of your pregnancy. There are no complications associated with pregnancy and the band so listen to your MD. Best ofluck to you and hubby.

Thank you Elisabeth. But I wonder why would they remove it later. Wouldnt you have to be under that x-ray machine and that would be bad for the baby. I guess I need to talk to him more.

There is no need to remove the saline under x-ray. In fact, most people don't even get fills under it. Your MD just needs to numb the area with lidocaine, insert a needle and aspirate the saline into the syringe until he/she can't aspirate anymore. Essentially, you'll have no restriction but you also won't have the complications of the baby's growth causing reflux with an inflated band.
