Is This a PB?

It's happened twice. Haven't had any fills yet. I eat something that seems to have difficulty going down. I have made the mistake twice of taking a sip of water. I feel the food either sticking or moving very slowly down my pipe. I then feel the need to cough and when I do, the bit of water with the food comes out. then I'm good to go! Is that a pb?

marieze: IMHO, yes.... you are describing one form of PB....a rather simple form.....you are skirting the edge of a more intense event....

They can be more complex and lengthy and far more uncomfortable....

you can get various slimy bits back up, foam, drool or a heavy thick goo with partially digested food bits....depending on the severity of the 'stuck' moment.

A classic PB does not originate in the lower stomach, but in the pouch or lower esophagus, and there are relatively few stomach acids involved....so PB is not really quite like the traditional 'vomit' so many fear.

'Slimming' is a related but I consider a separate kind of event....

This is kind of gross, sorry....
Yes, and as Jack said, you got off easy! Mine combine a PB and a slime and you'll find me hunched over the sink with slime coming out faster than I can spit it (and I can't swallow it because I'm blocked and it won't go down) There is intense pain, I can't talk or function - all I can do is concentrate on getting the pain to go away. Finally I feel a retching kind of feeling (not like vomiting, much less intense) and the food finally comes out in a projectile PB, all slimy and it sometimes takes me three tries to get it unstuck. Attractive, huh? SOOOOOOO not fun~ and not something you want to happen outside the privacy of your own home! It always happens when I eat something dry and especially if I eat cake...good reason not to eat cake! (but I seem to keep trying)

Yes. It gets even worse when you eat more and then bam you are headed to the bathroom. You are lucky you had such a great warning!
