I just sort of give myself the pep talk that I've done SO well, that ONE day of bad eating isn't going to sabotage all my efforts. Regroup and do a bit more exercise the next day and focus on only healthy foods. Just remember ... it's a PROCESS and a learning curve. All people have bad eating days...I think that's part of life. It's what you do on the majority of other days that will really make the difference! Now if you are having lots of bad eating days, it sounds like an overhaul is in order! LOL.

I switch to liquid protein only, assuring my body 80 grams of protein. I drink loads of water and take my vitamins. Keep away from the pantry.
I look at myself like a drunk. I can get off the wagon. Getting back on is the trick.

When I start to fall, I start to think of the stress and pressure I must be putting on my band and the last thing I want to do is lose my band! That's my personal way to get back on track.
(Hey Jack, we've been around for a while, LOL)

I wish I could go to liquids only for a day to regroup. But ...alas...I get too hungry. So...if I mess up I just do better the next day.At least you are aware that you messed up. Each day is a new beginning. Best of luck Donna

uh huh... I just did the same thing last week... and felt terrible about it.. then scared myself thinking I would make my band slip...and then stressed about it too....
Personally I got a fill andthat was the 'thing' that made me get back to reality... I think I was in desperate need..
Now I am fine, thank goodness

You (excuse me, we) didn't get fat from one day of overeating! But several days that turn into several weeks of overeating will result in big weight gains.
This will not be the last time this happens, so you need a game plan, to follow when it does happen. I agree with Jack, except I do full liquids for at least two meals, followed by a small salad with some protein for
dinner.
I do two days of this , depending on how bad the "bad" day was.
Track your protein while on liquids and keep them high. Drink water between meals.

There are premade protein shakes ( example, Atkins Advantage and clear pre-mixed protein drinks ( example, Isopure CLEAR) and protein powders that can be mixed into jello or milk.
Chicken and Beef broth would also have some protein in it.
Your Dr. usually advises you on this and when you are able to have different forms of liquids after the surgery.
There are generally several stages, Clear liquids, full liquids, pureed, mushies, soft food, regular food.

I didn't have to do clear liquids, just liquids for two weeks, then to mushies, then solid foods. Clear liquids, now that is a tough one!
