Nurses...IV site question

Hi, I had my surgery back in September. Well, a few minutes ago I was making the bed and bumped my hand on something right where my IV was during surgery. Now there is a knot coming up there and it's very sore and tender. Could this cause a blood clot or anything else serious? Thanks.

It sounds like it's just a small hematoma (a little blood under the skin that leaked from the vessel). It will absorb back into the body. You can put a warm compress on it if you want.
