I ate a nice prime rib dinner the night before, my doc said special diets weren't necessary prior to surgery. I didn't have any problems

I was told not to eat after midnight the night before. So, at 11pm I was making a run to What-A-Burger to eat my last going away jalapeno chese burger (I was under the impression I would'nt be able to eat burgers after surgery, I was wrong.)
Also had some onion rings on the side. Can't remember the drink. I look back now and regret all those going away meals I treated myself to. I had to lose those pounds too! I gained 20 lbs. right before surgery! I was BAD!

LoL

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do fine. By the way, I had BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, and carrot cake for my last dinner before surgery, and had no trouble. The surgeon said the only restriction was not to eat anything the morning of the operation.

I didn't have a pre-op diet either and went out the night before surgery for a nice dinner with my brother. You'll do great and I can't wait to hear how your doing after surgery! Teresa
