I have NO TROUBLE at all with lettuce, and I'm pretty restricted. I eat a salad for lunch every single day. I'm loving the new Southwest salad from McDonalds. I use a minimal amount of the dressing on it, and it's YUMMY (get the grilled chicken on it).

I agree with clynnc, can't do iceberg. Nope, nada. I can do spinich pretty well. If I go to a salad bar, I get spinich then tear it up into pretty small pieces to help the process.

To be honest, I couldn't eat salad of any kind in my first year. It was only here in year two that I got lettuce figured out......

I haven't been filled yet, and haven't felt restriction in a while, but I tried lettuce and it took a lot of chewing to get it to go down well.. was very unenjoyable so I haven't tried it since.

I havent been filled yet either, not until June 21st (a whole 7 weeks out from surgery). I am afraid to try certain things. For example, I was not feeling well and wanted some ice cream for my throat. I about died. It was plain old ice cream, which I used to eat gallons and gallons of. We were also at sea world in Orlando the day before, the only thing they had to eat there was steak or chicken. So I had a piece of chicken, and I felt it go all the way down, and I thought I chewed good too. Then I felt like I was having a heart attack for the rest of the day. I think it might have been my stress level too, but who knows. At this point, I will stick to my mashed potatoes and ground turkey. After going clear liquids since April 22nd, I am afraid to eat! no wonder the band works so well!!!

:D

I eat tons of salad everyday, all different kinds of lettuce and other greens (fresh and boiled) and never had any problem. As long as I chew it really well, everything goes down well (too well as a matter of fact, I have to keep myself focused on doing correct food choices or I'd be able to eat all the wrong stuff).
