Question Lap Band Material

Something I was wondering, what material are these bands made of? I'm just thinking how long this object will last in our bodies. :help:

I'm pretty sure it's silicone with a little bit of titanium in the port. Assuming there's no issues, it'll last longer than you do, lol

My dr said that it is possible for it to last forever. I only pray it does.

11/10/06 259 lbs 1st fill +4cc
1/26/07 252 lbs @5cc's No fill added
6/4/07 234.6 lbs @7cc filled in march
8/30/07 219.6 lbs @ 7 1/2 cc filled in July
Total loss 53lbs :p I am on my way....
start 272 1st pre op visit..Now 219..-53lbs & 44 lbs to goal
!!!!!! Personal goal 175lbs !!!!!

Same stuff BOOBS are made of! LOL

Band is thicker and the innertub is thinner..........

Also the port is much like any other implantable device... my grandma had one for pain medicine and diabetics have one for insulin (so I'm told)


Stints, Pacemakers, etc.... all things proven to be medical miracles and I view the band as the same.
