gaining weight

I guess that I am looking for reassurance or something...I got my band done on Jan 27TH and just had my 2nd tightening on March 31st, I was on a roll and have lost 49 lbs, but in the last week I put on 6 lbs. I dont know if because I havent started my period or the stress of trying to sell my house, or if I am sabatoging my self because I am scared of losing all this weight-and not knowing who I am...I know that doesnt make any sense, but I guess my question is, how do I know that my band hasnt slipped or something, since I put on a few lbs back on, I am not schedualed to go back for another fill until the end of May, but now I wonder if I shouldnt go sooner?
any thoughts???

I think you should start counting your daily calories. I know this means diet. Yuk. It is what I did when my losing slowed. I got a handle on it.
Just a suggestion.
Your band sister,
edie

What did you eat yesterday? Can you give us an idea of your typical diet?

It’s part of the band insanity to get a little panicky when you stop losing or start gaining. First thing, take a step back and look at the situation. How much are you eating? Are you exercising? Do you feel any restriction? Are you grazing throughout the day? Band slippage alone wouldn’t account for weight gain unless you are feeling no restriction and eating more food. It’s virtually impossible to gain six pounds of fat in one week unless you are seriously overeating. If your food/exercise seems reasonable, it’s very likely that there’s something else going on in your body. It could be your period, stress, bloat, or any number of other temporary conditions that your body will sort out all on its own.

Personally, I would go sooner and discuss it with your surgeon to dispell any concerns that you have. You may be eating too many carbs and not enough protein. Julie

Unhappy

a typical day for me is getting up @ 5:30 am to go walking 1 1/2 -3 miles PER DAY. when I get home I get ready for work, then I make breakfast, which is either eggs or slimfast. (that is around 7:00) then about 10:30 -1100 I have lunch which is a salad or a wrap w/ turkey, lettuce,& tomato & a little ranch. @ 5 pm when I get home I make some think chicken, or fish,w/ salad on the side. (or a cucumber salad or something like that.) i dont think that my diet is terrible & I get excercise, plus I am running around ALL over my building...I think that it is stress that is a BIG factor, & I SHOULD be starting my period soon(hence the EMOTIONAL crazy lady attitude lately-@ least that is what my husband says....) should I worry that it might be a slip?? What are some of the tell tale signs of a slip??
