First Fill and Nutritionist Consultation

I had my first consultation with the nutritionist yesterday and was really surprised that she was kind of down on me for concentrating on protein. She was much more concerned about getting a "balanced" diet and wanted me to eat protein, fruit or veggie, and a carb at every meal. I was concentrating on the protein anda she told me I was still "on a diet" which I didn't agree with. But I promised her I'd try to get in more fruits and veggies.

Also had my six-week check and first fill. According to their scale I'm d own 22 pounds (I like mine better...it said 25!). He was really pleased with that and almost didn't give me a fill. But since I'd driven for 3 hours to get there and hadn't gotten anything stuck or PB'd, he went ahead and give me a 1cc fill. Found out I have the Inamed band size 10...does anyone know what the capacity of that is?

There are 2 bands, size 9.75cm and 10cm, both with a 4cc capacity. So if you have the 10cm band, you have 4cc saline capacity. I don't know the size of the band that holds 10cc, then there's the VG band...how come I can never remember this stuff? Check out www.Inamed.com and see what that says.

Emily, it looks like you have 4cc capacity, especially if you only have a 1cc fill. That's my bet, anyway.

You DO need to eat veggies/fruits and not JUST protien! But I swear I do better when I concentrate on the protien and be sure to get that in. The rest of it falls into place when I do that.

How's the fill so far?

I'm doing OK so far...did liquids only Tues. and Wed. and will start mushies today. Don't notice a great deal of difference...but I think I can feel that my pouch empties more slowly. I do eat veggies and fruits in small quantities and some carbs but not a lot... I got used to concentrating on the protein first when I was doing Atkins and have just kind of continued that...I think I feel better.

I was guessing that the band capacity was 4cc, but thanks for confirming that.

Good for you. I didn't really feel much restriction until I had my 2nd fill, but it is hard to tell when you are on liquids. Keep up the great work!

3 hours, yikes, that is as bad as me. Except, I have to drive for an hour, then take a train for 2 hours to get into NYC, worth it though, I love my dr.
