....ok....I'm about woozy here folks....
I've been paying my co-pay each visit, $30...............
I saw the PA for the first time because my surgeon moved back to Canada.........
My ins. co has started mailing copy of the bill to show the account activity....
The charge was nearly $500 (!!!!).................
Of course it was reduced per their policy....
so the ins. co STILL paid enough that the OV cash-in-fist amounted to RIGHT AT $300!!!
So for what amounted to about 30 seconds of actual skilled licensed provider time....
that's a TON of BUX!!!
What is the rest of the country paying? Is this abnormal? Have I just be out of the loop?

I end up paying about that much for my fills. A little less, but not by much, and I go to MX. I've heard of people paying/being charged up to $1000 per fill, so it's really all over the map!

Mine isn't covered by insurance so when I run out of free fills, Dr. Tersingi in
Coos Bay charges $160 per fill.

Jack, did this fill involve fluoroscopy? I know the surgeon's fee for my fills is $400, but there's another HUGE charge for the fluoroscopy done in a radiology suite at the hospital.

I've never had fluoro since the first postOp pre-discharge from surgery....
I had an upper GI a couple times at 'annual exam'....
guess I'm just out-of-touch....

My fills are $150 if a cash payment, not sure what insurance is yet. I have been paying a $40 co-pay. Mine are also under fluoroscopy. I almost cant imagine not having them done under fluoroscopy now that I have.

City: Colorado Springs State: Colorado | Wow, that does seem like a lot. I pay $15. No insurance, I'm self pay. But that is the surgeon that performed it. I don't know what he charges for people who had the surgery done elsewhere, if he deals with them at all.

I pay 100.00 for fills and never need fluroscopy but the time I did it was 150.00 extra. My first fill was 250.00 and then the first year after were 150.00 and now since it's been over a year 100.00. I was self pay all the way for everything too, insurance has never paid one penny.

I used to pay $100 per fill till I moved from St Louis to south Mississippi where in an economically depressed area the only doc around that does it charges $1500 for what he calls foregin bands.I told him I had no insurance and was self pay, could he do any better than that . they said if they did it for me, they would have to for others . It is what it is, no exceptions .It is quite possibly the biggest rippoff I have ever encountered . Thats why I am going to self fill. I have a 12 cc band with 5 cc in it and currently have little or no restriction.

I think my surgeon charges $150. My co-pay is $20 (fills are billed as office visits).
