C-Section

Has anyone had a c-section after getting the Lap Band. It is possible? Is the port at all in the way? (I haven't been banded yet, so I only have a general idea of where the port would be located.)

Just curious.

Well, I can't answer from experience, I'm not banded. However, I did attend the informational seminar last night and someone asked the same questions. According to the surgeon it would in no way be affected. Also, I have had a C-Section and from where I've seen the port placement they are no where near close. The band is dealing w/the stomach which is in a much higher location than your uterus.

Hi Eyespy! I can't imagine a C-Section after lap band would be a problem. I can only speak for myself, but my port is above the waistline on the left side of my torso. I had two C-Sections pre-lap band, and both times the incision was a "bikini cut", which is well below the waist. It basically makes a big smiley face cut between your hip bones - sorry for the grotesque visual, but it was the only way I could think to describe it! Even the few people I know that had emergency C-Sections, the incisions never extended above the waist line. I think you will be fine.:thumb:
