So I was thinking about my statement about how hard it is to lose weight. I was thinking more on it and it occurred to me that
BEING FAT IS HARDER than ANYTHING
Can you fit in a bathroom stall with no problems? Wipe much?(for you bigger girls...you know what i mean)
Can you fit at a booth comfortably? I cant.
Can you buy clothes at ANY store in the mall? I cant.
Can you take an entire day outing and ENJOY it? I cant. I can be out on my feet for like 3-4 hours and im DONE....ready to pass out.
Does the thought of 95 degree weather totally freak you out? It does me!
Does your kids beg you to do things that are physically impossible for a big person my size? Mine does.
Now that I look into this...being fat is JUST as hard as losing weight. We just train our minds to except it.
Well im done with that. Im not excepting it anymore!!!

Krystal,
I understand how you feel and hopefully it will be past tense very soo for you .
I was pretty athletic before I gained the weight, I slowly became a spectator. My kids and husband really noticed I wasn't playing with them and I couldn't keep up with them. It sucked.
How's the real fill going??

It is not harder than losing weight. Most humans in gereral are not going to take the harder path in life unless they have a good reason to. If being fat was harder than losing weight I would not be fat. Now being fat does suck. The effort that we have to put into losing weight sucks too. I would believe the statement that being fat sucks as much as losing weight sucks. To me that makes more sense, seeing as they both suck and the easier thing to do is just stay fat.
My doctor and I had a heart to heart at the begining of May. I was complaining about how much I *hate* exercising. He looked at me and said "which do you hate more, exercising or being fat?" The simplest question in the world to answer. I hate being fat. SO you know what? I exercised 29 days last month. I lost 11 pounds. It is not about accepting our fatness, it is about doing what is right and doing what is easy. *I* am done doing what is easy.

Yes is IS hard to stay fat AND hard to lose weight. I came to realize a BIG reason it was hard for me to lose weight, after an initial 20 or so pounds was this: I would cut back my food and exercise for a matter of weeks...feeling deprived and hungry, yet like I was making progress. Then it started to sink in, just how long this was going to take. I was losing weight, depriving myself of my first love, food and I was STILL FAT! I still couldn't do the things I longed to do, like go hiking, skiing, water skiing, etc because I was still fat! See, I never let it sink in that I would have to eat right and exercise for life! I had kept looking at it as a goal to reach and then I could 'eat normal' again. Oh, I'd SAY I was making a lifestyle change, but I was totally and completely in denial! I NEVER once envisioned a life of eating right and exercising! It sux, to do all the right things for week, months, maybe even years on end and still be "fat". But I've surrendered to this...If I NEVER reach my goal weight, I will STILL eat right and exercise. I HAVE to...It's the right thing to do, even tho it's not easy...like babygrl said.

Hey Babygrl, There is also the concept of "Would you rather exercise for one hour a day, or be dead 24 hours a day?" Very sobering, when you think of where severe morbid obesity could lead you. Susannah

C Ya | Oy! Today was the first day of winter in Australia. Very crisp and cold it was.;) The seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere, making Chanukah/Christmas time summertime here.

I always hated that I had to check where I could sit to see if it would support me. I NEVER wanted to break a chair. Sometimes I would just stand and well meaning friends would say sit, sit. I would finally have to tell them why . I was ok with admitting it but I think they were embarrassed then.
