Bandster Hell

HELP!!! I'm 27 days post surgery, and although my appitite is under control and I'm following the rules, I find that I can eat much more. I'm thinking this is probably normal as my stomach heals before my first fill...I just need some reassurance.

Thanks

Rest assured that you are normal. You should have very little if any restriction at all. It should be as if you had no band at all. The restriction will come with your fills. Be well.

Yep, ditto what Randy said. Once the initial swelling from your surgery has gone down, it is normal for your appetite to return to normal. Now is the time for healing. You are correct that the real weight loss will start once you start getting fills and reaching proper restriction.

I don't think we are saying you can eat "normal". We are saying it is normal to be hungry at this stage in the game. When you had your surgery, didn't your doctor give you a specific schedule to follow with food. Meaning, you stay on liquids for a specific period of time, then on to mushies, etc.? You should always follow your doctors advice.

Totally normal, if fact most of the time it takes several fills before you will feel much restriction. Relax!:D
