Anyone see the Big John update story?

The Discovery channel followed a 17 year old boy who had DS surgery -- it may have been a repeat, but they just showed the 20 month update on him last night and I was in tears! This boy started at 407 and despite the controversy of having a 17 year old have WLS, in 20 months he got down to 178. They showed him skateboarding and doing things that he was never able to do. It was so inspiring - his WLS literally gave him a life back that he was losing. Did anyone see it?

Yes! He looks wonderful! He's going to need some plastic surgery to get rid of the extra skin...it's in the way, there's no doubt about it. But, what a change! I can't wait to see this young man grow into maturity with health and vitality. I liked it when he went to his school counselor and said "getting my GED is the first step" to continuing his education. He said it with such confidence and hope. I was so proud of him in that moment! Loved the show. Go Big John!

Yes - he will definately need plastics - but I was so proud of him, too! I'm glad someone else saw it!!!
