California Encouraged to FORCE STERILIZATION on the Obese
Pacific Northwest Journal of Medicine | 03/30/05 | Steve Mitton
Beginning last November, the city of San Francisco began a program whereupon clinically obese men between the ages of 18 and 55 could undergo a procedure whereupon approximately 1/2 an inch is removed from each vas and the ends are sealed - commonly referred to as a vasectomy - completely free of charge.
The overwhelming turnout led the State of California to follow suit, and now California is the first state in the Union to offer state-funded vasectomies to men who have been diagnosed as obese.

Hmm, I was shocked when I read Jack's post.
Then, I read the information on the link Sarah posted. I am glad it was a hoax. No offense Californians, but I have to say coming out of California I would have believed it. In my profession we call you'll the "Nation of California." You'll have so many laws.

I believed it when I first read it too. I was really mad, and then I was madder when I found out a couple of jacka$$es decided it would be funny to do something like that.
But you are right, if anywhere, it would have been California. I'll be glad to leave here someday, lol.

Whoa....wait just a minute folks? You think the uber liberal State of California would do something like this? Esp in the very liberal City of San Francisco that got up in arms over a billboard derogatory to overweight people? If you think SF would discriminate like that then you got it ALL backwards.
Plus, our state is bad in debt and so why would they do ANY program that would spend state funds?
Please. I get tired of the media influenced vision of California being everyone's "reality". There are some damn fine people who live here. And I don't eat granola, hug a tree, or any other flakey things ya'll might think.
Give us a chance, okay?
