?about liquids?

It seems to me that you would lose some weight when you first go liquids, however, after reading many posts it doesn't seem to be the case. Would someone mind explaining this a little? thx:help:

It seems some people do lose and some don't. I didn't. I was told that I couldn't get in enough calories per day just consuming liquids so the body sometimes reacts with an almost starvation mode response.

I don't know for sure but I'd agree that I was NOT getting proper nutrition while on liquids. I had trouble concentrating and felt a little worn out during the liquids stage. There's only so much soup you can force yourself to drink in a day so I drank as many protein shakes and sugar free juice as I could stand, but it still didn't add up to much!

I lost on the pre-op diet and then a little more post-op but it was mostly a challenge to maintain my losses until I got decent restriction... on fill #3.
