Please help a newbie.

I am newly banded, last Tuesday to be exact. Ever since I came home from surgery my blood sugars have been high. Like up to 380. Called endo and she had me come in. Well apparently I was not taking the correct insulin. Before surgery I was on Regular insuline U500. Since the surgery she has me in Regular insulin U100. I have not been under 200 yet. I am eating nothing, my carbs are below 50 per day, no sugars, no fats. Complete liquid stage of the diet. I have dropped from the over 300's down to the 200's, but what gives. Why wont my sugars go down to normal?

Be careful to monitor over the next few weeks as it may suddenly decline. Keep your diabetic doc informed as we all have a little different response.

I was terrified my own BG would get too low...which it did and I had to keep reducing my shots and oral meds.

I reduced my Humulin N by 75% within the first few weeks, and the R by 90% in the first few DAYS postOp.

From 100 units injected twice daily to ZERO injected now in TWO YEARS!!!

YEA BandsterS!!!

I had only been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of months when I had the band.

I quit taking the junuvia (sp.) cause I was keeping under 140 with diet and exercise. However I quit losing and was going up and down the same five pounds, also my BG started getting wacky high. I started taking the meds again and have lost five pounds in a few days. Does that make any sense?
