Hi,
I have a question about diabetes for those who have it. How has the surgery helped with your diabetes? Do you follow a specific food plan for diabetics? Thanks for any help on this.

I just had surgery yesterday. My surgeon had me stop my Metformin one week prior and I had to continue to monitor my blood sugar. He has continued to keep me off the Metformin as well as my blood pressure medication.(post surgery) I have to continue to check my blood sugars at home 3-4 times a day, plus monitor my BP. I go back to the surgeon in 2 weeks, unless my blood sugars increase to a higher than normal limit, or I am having difficulty with my blood pressure or other health concerns. My surgeon believes I wont have to take my Metformin or my BP med ever again, once more weight comes off!
