Calling all Winded Wabbits! This is the thread dedicated to all you Wabbits that have slowed down to a more leisurely pace, somewhat akin to our venerable Tutle tempo.
We Turtles are so excited for you, for your inital blazing success, and we honestly feel your pain probably better than you understand yourselves. The long hard struggle just to lose a few pounds is so very frustrating. The Turtle Tribe understands that. What we cannot quite understand is how hard it is for y'all to hit that wall of plateau.
Winded Wabbits, I propose that you define yourselves as someone that initially lost weight at an amazing pace, but as you get closer to your goals, your loss has slowed down.
Your Mission will be to stick together as a group. There is always strength in numbers. As you work your way off your long plateau, you will offer encouragement to each other and chant the LBTSL ( the Lap Band Talk Slow Loser) mantra of "It's not a race, it's not a race" over and over again. As well as your very own mantra “We did it before, we can do it again!”
The Turtle Tribe cannot elect a leader, and I don’t even know if it is appropriate for one of our tribe to suggest a leader to you. You must self select. We know you will pick wisely.

Hey Vines - Aren't you sweet, encouraging those rabbits to even greater success. It would be very easy to watch and snicker behind thier backs while they start to struggle as we have, human nature being what it is sometimes! I am very happy that you have led the way again along the high road.
There were several former turtles posting on the slow loser thread looking for a home. I think it was Zoe who proposed the "Ex-Rabbit Auxillary" .
OK you wascilly winded wabbits, we got your ball rolling for you. We know how much our the support of our fellow turtles means to us. We're figuring you could use your own place, too.

Here it is!!! I think I fit into this "club".
Although I never really lost a great amount of weight at any time, it just seemed to slowly get down. ounce by ounce.
Im even thinking of getting some diet pills to kick start this weight loss.
And to think that the holidays are here! You know what that means...
F O O D !!!
lots of it.
So? I have a choice. Either gain self control NOW, or wait another 6-8 weeks til its all over and be 10 pounds heavier!
I say this as I sit here and eat my Wendy's baked potato - feeling the restriction! But I keep on shoveling it in...
instead of a Wabbit club, I think I need a phychiatrist.

Finally a place I can call home. Yes, I have had good losses at certain times - during pre-op diet, after surgery, after fill 2 (overfill) but now I'm settled down and am pretty consistently losing .4 - .6 pounds per week. Last month I did a little better - trying to win the holiday challenge - but I notice that I'm not even a contender there and I ended up with so many blisters on my feet that I can't hardly walk.
So I will come here to post my nsv (none lately) and scale/inch victories. Thanks for starting this. Celeste

I'm a winded wabbit!
However though my weight loss has picked up again in October with a loss of over 8lbs in a month but I was on a very long 6 month plateau with zero weight loss. Great post Vines..

Okay, I managed to lose .1 pound last month - according to my dr. So I decided we need to start recognizing our NSVs here.
I bought purple jeans about 3 weeks ago that were tight - and today they fit just fine.
I lost my measurement book so I didn't measure for awhile. Then I found my measurements for June and July. Holy crapole, have I lost inches...
I have never worn 12s (and baggy 12s) when I weighed this much 178 in the past. Somehow I keep losing fat and not muscle.
I have tracked body fat with my scale and my measuring shows a total weight loss of 35.6 pounds with only 4 pounds of that being lean mass and the remainder fat loss.
Okay, some other wabbits need to post their NSV. I'm guessing we will really slow down with the holidays so its time to recognize the victories. Celeste

Well, I don't feel like I fit in with the turtles or the rabbits, but I do have a great suggestion as to who should head the rabbits as their leader: BECKYINTEXAS.
That woman had lost over 100lbs in 6 months and I couldn't think of a nicer, kinder and more inspirational person than her for the rabbit sector.
What do ya'll think?
Cindy

City: london State: uk | Can I join ?
Hi to you all,:)
This is my first post but I have read heaps of post and I'm sure this is the group for me.
I'm a member of UK site but I have found your post's more honest, informative and helpful.
I got my Ina med band 31st Jan 06 and with pre-op diet I have lost about 21lbs to date but have not lost anything in the last three weeks:cry
I am trying by making wise food choices but still nothing, I am assuming it will happen but I pray it's soon.
It is SO depressing.
I'm hoping for my first fill 10th April but my consultant has said he will only do it if I am not losing so do I try my best to keep the weight coming off or do I just wait it out and get my fill ?
Either way I want to join.
Best wishes to you all
Debbieuk

I'm a winded wabbit -- lost 50lbs in less than 3 months and now I haven,t lost anything in almost 2 months. Have a fill coming up this Thurs, but I'm definately in the slow lane now..................hoping the fill helps me get back on track and rededicated -- I've definately been lax. Great idea Vines!

This place looks like home. I've been looking for just the right spot. I only loose for the 1st 3 weeks after my fill, then I just chill. I'm not in any hurry to get a 3rd fill. So I think I'll live off salad and chicken for a while. Looks like you all have been dealing with this situtation longer than I, so does anybody have any suggestions for jump starting with out another fill?
