It's always important to remember that when we "cheat" we are only cheating one person - ourselves.

That's the way it is with me also, the food goes through quicker but I can see if you're about to PB the water would just help that. Aren't you in the PCOS room too, or am I wrong. Just adds to the banquet at the table! I'm just back on Metformin because of my diabetes getting out of hand so I'm hoping that may help, I don't know, crossing my fingers and my toes!
I can see by your ticker that you've done really well so you should be proud of yourself. I think I was your age when I put it on and I'm 20 years older than you! My daughter gets her gastric bypass on the 27th and I'm nervous for her but happy she'll have a new start in life and so far hasn't even cheated once on her 4 week liquid diet and she still has 2 more to go. I wish I could be as strong as she is! My daughter is my role model! take care Nancy.
Thanks Brandy. Yep, that's me, your fellow PCOS'er! Oh, the joys of PCOS . I am on Actos Metformin (both in one pill). So far, it hasn't given me any problems. I hope the Metformin helps you.
I started putting it on at the age of 18, by age 20 I was a whopping 270 lbs and it just went downhill from there. I'm so thankful I have my band to help me, God only knows where I would be without it!
How is your med different than just plain metformin? Oh and I bought Breyers sugar free ice cream today because of the pms and the MIL coming tomorrow and it was pretty good! I hope it's not bad for me but it's better than other choices I have made in the past!

I think I've been calling it the wrong thing, it's ACTOplus met. Actos directly targets insulin resistance, and Metformins' primary act is to reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver. They work together to help manage blood glucose levels. I'm not really sure if it's better, but my Endocrinologist wanted to put me on it and it has worked really well for me.
I'll have to look for the ice cream and see what's in it and the nutritional info. I have to be careful with sugar free stuff, especially if it contains Maltitol....it makes me sick and basically runs right through me.
Ever since being lap banded I've been constipated so I don't have that problem. I think the antidepressants add to it. I don't see my endocrinologist until August. It's amazing how few they have in my area, it's killer to get an appointment! So basically this is just what my PCP has prescribed for me so who knows what the endo will do. thanks Nancy.

Yeah, I know. I drive 2 hours to see my Endo. Your endo will probably do massive bloodwork tests. When they drew my blood, I saw the list of test and there were A LOT! Mine has really helped me. I hope yours can help you too.
Wow, I guess I have nothing to complain about. I drive 45 minutes but I have to wait months for an appointment! I could have seen my old one but she was a real and I did not like her bedside manner. I think she hated fat people! Why go into endocrinology if you don't like fat people? Come on
I still have to get to Georgia one day, my favorite person in the world is Paula Deen and I've never been to Savannah. I have her cookbook signed by her and her husband Michael, you probably don't even know who I'm talking about do you?
I don't know now whether the metformin is working or not but that "going right through you" thing you were speaking of previously has been happening to me for the past two hours. I swear not since prior to surgery and prior to medifast shakes I have not had this gastrointestinal issue! Hopefully it's a good thing!
