A Scale Victory

Before the holidays....way back before Thanksgiving....MsJoy was 256. Had been 256 since August. Not gaining, but then again, not losing either. But the holidays loomed just ahead and the demons of cookies, cakes and pies. And let me tell you, MsJoy's deep dish pecan pie is enough to make you slap your mama. Shovel on a big ol' slab of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream and I'm talkin' HEAVEN. Well, just yesterday, she went into the local doc's office and weighed............wait for it............255. :) Life is good!

That's great! Congrats to her! This was my first year in a long time that I didn't add 10 pounds for the holidays... Life is Good!

Of course, now, if I keep going the way I'm going, I'll be needing a band of my own.....LOL

LOL. My DH is eating all of the food that I can't and has gained weight. I am making him go on Weight Watchers this month. He is the type of guy that if he doesn't have "guidelines" he will eat everything in sight!!!! Not good for a LB DH. I can eat 4 regular bites before I am full, which is 16 LB bites that is about 1/5 of what I used to eat... so my DH is eating the other 4/5 right now.

I hear ya, Faybie. We haven't figured out yet, that we can order one LARGE meal and share it. I'm sure you can imagine the amount of food that we leave on the table. But I am starting to learn to just eat what is on my plate and not what is one BOTH plates....LOL

My DH has a psycological issue with leaving food on the table. I guess it was because he had 2 brothers and if you don't grab food while its there, it will be gone in a blink of an eye.

I had a heck of a time training him not to eat my or our kid's food on our plate without asking. I would get up and go to the restroom and come back and my food would be eaten. He would say "Oh, I thought you weren't going to eat that". pfft. LOL. Now he just has an excuse to do what he has always done.
