Question Need Advice

Ok i was banded on jan 18th im doing pretty good im down about 40 pounds i got my second fill a week and a half ago and i think its a good one i get full very quick and feel satisfied my question is How small of a bite should we be taking ??? small like you would give a baby ? i have been using a small shrimp fork but every time i take a bite i get this heavy chest feeling stuck but not really.... i have never pb'd or slimed or thrown up but that chest thing hurts for about 3 or 4 seconds i have slowed down inbetween bites but maybe not enough ?????? any suggestions would be awsome! i was thinking maybe i needed an unfill im at 1cc in the smaller size band. i would hate to do that seeing that i finally do not feel hungry all the time and i have to remind my self to eat!

I would try to chew to mush with tiny bites and see if it makes a difference. If you are still having the discomfort then I would have them take out just a tiny bit. Good luck

....smaller bites, better chewchewchew, slower eating.....I still have the 'first bite' syndrome.....better just put the tools down and wait a few minutes till the gut tells me it's ready for more action....

My best technique for steak eating has become this: medium rare, non-gristle, non-fat....sharp knife (really!!) cut a 3/8" strip from the edge, then put chiklet-sized bites in the mouth....chewchewchew...and enjoy....

It is way easy to eat too fast and get those 'pre-PB' blues....

try slowing down and those sensations probably will go away...

IMHO!!!

You have received excellent advice so far. I concur! You bite is too big, or you didn't chew enough, or you ate too fast if you get that pain. That pain is a sign that one of the above has happened. You may also want to adjust your diet a bit before running back for an unfill. In your mind, go back to post-op and kind of start over, without the evil clear liquids, anyway. Do soup for a meal, or get your protien shakes back out for breakfast. Take advantage of this extra restriction! Watch your calories...don't get into the empty liquid calories habit. Just ease back into "grown-up" bandster foods. You will lose some weight and that fill will lossen up a bit.

Be careful, your band is biting back, and it will win if you don't eat properly! Good luck!
