Ok leener, I feel your pain. I am having the slime from he** right now but sooo understand what you are going through. I am hungry almost all the time. I have a lower bmi so I know that it should be more challenging for me.
You have resurrected some good points about slowing down. I realize I need to do that. I also wait too long to eat then start starving...so I eat too much. It takes time and we have to take small steps each day. I feel your frustration!

Eating slower is becoming a very wonderful event for me, instead of the 'inhale/what's NEXT' school of ingestatorial assault....

And bread really has no interest for me these days.....A most marvelous cook brought me a WHOLE LOAF of her special recipe french bread....and in 3 days I've barely picked a spot the size of an apricot fromit....and I LIVED for bread PreBand!!!

I also have found, while 'not really really really hungry' it works better if I eat at 'meal times' as I too get too hungry and off my training schedule.

Each day is opportunity to begin a healthy life style. My theory is, that I can't seem to STOP my bad habits, I can at least begin new GOOD habits that occupy so much time I don't have opportunity to indulge in the old killer habits.....

Thanks to everyone with the tips!! I'm looking forward to getting a first fill because for some reason, all of a sudden this week I have "opened up" and can eat everything like before.

It's becoming a struggle to hang onto the weight I have lost.

Awhile back someone posted about a discrete timer made for behavior modification with eating. Here is the link....I think it sounds pretty cool!

This is a problem that I am very concerned about for myself, as I have always wolfed and washed my food down.

I figure practice makes perfect (not banded yet, 44 days but who's counting), so every time I eat I try to take smaller bites, and I force myself to chew every bite 33 times. I usually don't make it past 16-20 chews, as the food has pretty much dissolved by then, but I find if I keep that 33 number in my mind, I am counting my chews and slowing down. And no beverages with food REALLY helps, as I can't wash it down.

Another plus side to this - I have discovered flavors I didn't know existed in the foods I eat! Never before did I realize that oatmeal had such depth...

I never realized how fast I ate untill I started trying to slow down and take smaller bites. I have always been a big drinker at meals (TEA) 2 or 3 large glasses at least. That was the first thing I tried to cut back on. At first I could only cut back, but eventually I got to where I don't drink with my meals. Gulping down my food was the next thing I worked on. I figured I would practice before I got banded. Good luck, I know you can do it!
