Thanks,

Tatia,
I can see no on else trying to help you out so I will try. I never had the feeling you were having but maybe it could be the gas from the anestesia still in your system. Just take it very slowing while drinking and eating and do some walking outside if you can to try and get rid of the gas in your system. If you still feel the same way on Monday then call you doctor. It is so new to you that your system is trying to get used to it. I was only able to eat 2 spoonfuls per meal my first couple of weeks. I didn't experience any pain except the port area.
Good Luck to you.
Josephine

I don't really know the answer either, but I agree with Josephine. I think walking will really help you. Also, when I felt nauseous, a sugar free popcicle always helped. Good luck to you, and let us know how you are doing!

Well, I ended up sick (throwing up)last night...that hurt!!! Today,(day two post op) I woke up somewhat nauseated, but I am going to take a shower and try to go to the local market to pick up a couple things (with my husband-no lifting). I just took a tums hoping that will settle my stomach, we'll see. I really don't mean to complain, but I think this is the worst I have ever felt in my life.

Sorry you are having so much problems...that seems to be something I only had a few days of, and I am glad. I would defiantly take the advice of walking, but do so in the house, if you havent eaten and are weak, being outdoors would be dangerous.
Just keep trying sips sips and more sips.......AND it should get better. If not, call your doctor on Monday...
Good Luck:)

Are you taking any meds? If so that might be causing it. If not make sure you are sipping everything. Most likely it is the swelling and the gas, but if you continue to have problems please call your doctor. If cold things don't go down well, try warm things like tea or warm broth. Make sure to keep sipping water and walking too!

I'm day 13 post op. I can only suggest taking it extremely slowly when you drink for the first few days. Maybe the lump in your throat is when you've had enough - try little and often. Good luck.

Hi duggerchick,
I had something similar when I was banded. Day 2-4, I could not keep anything down. My stomach had swelled shut. Call your doctor tomorrow if it continues to happen. But today you can put ice on your chest (the band should be located behind your breast plate between your breasts) for 30-60 minutes then take it off for an equal amount of time and repeat. It took about 8 hours of this for it to help me, but it did help me. Ensure you wrap the ice pack in a towel before you put it on your skin.
I hope it helps with the issue.
Good luck and let us know how it is going.
