To All Of Those In Bandster Hell

I am in bandster hell, struggling with keeping calories and quantities down because of my lack of restriction - I just thought I'd share this with you ----

For lunch today I ordered a Chef salad - hold the ham -
ANYWAY - I picked around it - ate all of the turkey first (like a good girl getting my protein in before anything else...) and then ate at the salad - it was VERY satisfying - and I am FULLLLLLLLL now..... I didn't finish it - but did have a good portion of it - I actully feel more full right now than I have in a loooooooog time -

Since the lettuce and tomatoes and cucumbers are all mostly water --I'm hoping it holds off the hunger (right now I can't even think about dinner)....

This is actually the first salad I've had since my surgery (on the 5th of Feb)... and I CHEWED CHEWED CHEWED -- but didn't seem to have any problems..

Just thought I'd share this tidbit - I figure I can "salad my way thru bandster hell" and not feel too bad about the quantity I can eat!

Hope this helps someone out there - I'd be anxious to know if anyone else has the same results.

Tina,
It took me 5 months to not care in the least bit about volume of food.
Now I just enjoy what I eat until I get full and how much I got to eat doesnt have a thing to do with it.

It took nearly a year before I could tolerate salads again....and I LOVE them....

Tina,
That is exactly what I did while I was in bandster hell...I ate salads all the time while I was waiting for the restriction to kick in. Great job!

I loved salad before the band, but now don't seem to enjoy/tolerate them. I have recently started eating carrots, cukes, and green peppers with salad dressing on them, but when I'm only supposed to have 4oz of food, how can I make room for salad. Having said that, I'm also in bandster hell and can easily eat more than 4oz of food, just not salad for some reason.

Wow, I am not sure what I will do if I can't eat salads. I don't mind giving up cheeseburgers and all that, but I love my salads! LOL
