My last fill was in December and I don't think I need one I just need to start excersising and eating right, you think I would know better since I had my plastic surgery back in Feb.

OK I apologize ahead of time if this sounds a little rude, it's not meant that way...but if you don't think you need a fill, why aren't you losing? I assume you're not losing because you were asking for help being motivated :) a tight band, watching the pounds melt off, and zero trouble picking good foods is motivating incarnated :)

You know, my band lulled me into a false sense of security. It made me think it was tight enough, but when I finally went in for a fill 8 months later, I'd totally forgotten what a fill felt like. Maybe it's a good time to visit your surgeon anyway??

Well its because I feel that if I change my eating habits like stop munching on chips and cookies or having a milk shake here and there that would help me lose weight and also if I were to start excersing that would help but my motivation is not there and I hate that I have that attitude because I am so close to goal. How close are you to goal?

Personally I 'have chips' maybe a handful in 3 months, and I haven't had a milk shake in over 4 years.

It's difficult to 'give up' what you aren't eating in the first place.

And I have been especially motivated to track every morsel I eaten in the last 2 years, along with exercise the past 6 months.

I can't tighten my fill without gagging. And I am by-and-large staying below the 1400 calorie level intake.

I was rewarded at my last visit to my internist with the "Well you haven't gained anything, maybe you are at your maximum weight loss point".....

I don't think so, yet here I am....still in the "Obese" range. :grrr:

Ahh ok.

The other thing I would like to suggest is checking out The Blood Type (and Genotype) Diet.

I got turned onto this when I decided since I was unable to tolerate meat I should look into vegetarianism...but thought there had to be another way. I wanted to maximize the nutrients that *my body* needed and I never trusted a one-size-fits-all diet. After all, those one-size-fits-all shirts NEVER applied to me ;)

The BTD or GD has ridiculous medical/peer review behind it and is based on scientific study of blood type, body type, diseases, and now nutrigenetics by this doctor and his son - Peter D'Adamo - who's taken up the fight.

The theory is, your blood feeds everything in your body. What if, since we had 4 distinct blood types whose antigens cannot tolerate each other (hence being given the wrong blood in a transfusion is dangerous) what if different blood types react in different ways to the same food?

Well Dr. D'Adamo has been doing medical/clinical studies on how blood types react to food. Guess what. Overwhelming evidence is that my blood type (A) shows an allergy to red meat, most cheeses, even poultry. I should be on brown rice, soy products, lots of fresh veggies (tho certain ones).

It won't kill me when I eat it, but I am likely to suffer agglutination (that mucusy feeling after I drink milk) or gastric distress. I always had "noisy pipes" and they are GONE since I kicked red meat out.

I am slowly going 100% BTD, but even just avoiding red meat and flour I have noticed drastic improvements in my body. Less circles under my eyes, better skin and hair condition. And I FEEL better. When I eat meat, and sometimes I will, I just don't feel good anymore. And it makes it easier to go towards veggies, which is good for me anyway.

Medically he's shown that certain foods I would eat actually inhibit my body from working properly. And it's different for each blood type.

The biggest offender: Meat, potatoes, white flour, sugar.

I was able to go vegetarian and I have never felt better. He's not all about doing EXCLUSIVELY the BTD, but Dr. D'Adamo thinks even cutting out Red meat for A's, or Gluten for O's, etc, will improve your body in amazing ways.

This has been around for over a decade and has won awards.

Dr. D'Adamo recently was interviewed by Dr. Oz (YOU on a Diet) on his Oprah podcast.

It's interesting, to say the least...

I guess sometimes I feel that I am comfortable so I should just maintain because I am lucky I don't gain but that's not good enough, I invested to much time, money and effort into me lossing weight so that I can give up now. Where is everyone located maybe we can set up meetings or something?

BUMP!

I think we've all been locked out of the 2005 thread for a while. Alex just fixed it and I thought I'd bump this thread.

I'm also starting another 2005 and older thread in this forum that isn't based on the month we were banded. Sadly at three years out there aren't enough of us still active out here to need to divide us up by months.
