Protein?

So how are you guys getting in so much protein?

I have to admit, its my first week and yea I havent really been good at it.

My doctor said 60-80 grams a day is what I need. That just seems like so much because its hard for me to take in so much!

When I start puree Friday I plan to add it to my foods so I'm hoping that'll help. But still 60 grams even seems high.

How are you guys doing it!?

Is it easier once you're able to eat normal? Do I still have to track my protein then?

I was 418lbs when I started... I'm 5'10. I'm really just eating when I get hungry. Chicken broth here, carnation instant breakfast there, sipping water throughout the day. I guess I'm doing it right.

Protein was difficult to get enough in the first few weeks. I had to resort to a soy enhanced shake, and track it all, adding another scoop of even more protein..... It took me about 3 weeks to get UP to the 900 calorie level. Ah.....the good old days.

That was my period of fastest weight loss.....

I didn't care for the Carnation products but did find some good choices at a local health food store that had lots of what I was looking for.

There's dozens of product lines out there. I came to prefer "Nature's Life Super Green pro 96" but your tastes may differ.

DW had lots of home made turkey stock on hand that was DEVINE during liquid phase.

I take in about 60-65 a day. It is a struggle on some days... but others very easy. Just depends on my hormones and emotions.

I do a shake for breakfast...or cottage cheese.
Milk has some good protein in it.

Slim Fast Carb Control shakes have 20 grams per can.

I LOVE Greek Strained Yogurt, *very* high in protein.

Try pureeing canned chicken, it's high in protein as well.

You could use Unjury clear protein powder to supplement your foods as well, it just can't be heated to a high heat or it gets lumpy.

Its easier when you're able to eat normally, and it wont hurt you for a few weeks to fall a bit short.
