City: cincinnati State: oh | I Am So Frustrated I put on a pair of jeans And I truly look huge I have been doing like 200 crunches a day and my stomach is tighter but it has been raised off my thighs and I think I look awful.. I feel bigger too. If this weight loss thing doesnt start moving soon I am afraid I am going to quit. Its getting harder to drag myself to the gym. I think I had rather be beat than to keep beating a dead horse and not see ANY results.
Thank you for letting me rant/. |

| I was 160 the day I was banded over a year ago. Now I am at 125.5. That is only 35 lbs. Not much. I was hopping to be at goal of 110 by now. I am only 5 ft tall. |

I use the treadmill, the elliptiKILL and the stair master. Sometimes I do 15 or 20 min on each, sometimes I will do one machine for 45 min. You should vary the resistance. Like on the ellpitiKILL,
I do level 9 for 2 min, then level 10 for 2 min. then 11 for 2 min. The treadmill,
I also change the mph. I will go for 3.5 for 5 min. and move the incline up and down, then jog for 1 min at 5 mph. see what I am getting at? You can't do the same thing the entire time on any of the machines.
Do you go to the library at all? There is great book called Body for Life. You could probably get a used copy at Amazon, but I am a big fan of the library.

State: Oregon | My gym has a great weight machine that has really taken inches off my thighs. It's kind of like sitting in the thing at the GYN office. It's kind of hard to explain. You lean back, and push out with your legs. I have the weight set pretty high, 110 lbs. I have lost 3" in my thighs from that and the leg press.
Do you vary the resistance on the elliptical?

| Slow Loser I too am a slow loser. I was baded May 11th, have had 3 fills, and have only lost 27 lbs. My last fill finally provided more restriction, but maybe too much. I have to be very careful what I eat and how fast. It's seems like every day food gets stuck and I PB. I've vomited several times since my fill two weeks ago. I don't want to get unfilled b/c I'm finally startig to lose weight again, but I also don't want to have my band slip. I want to try and stick out until my next scheduled appt.

State: Oregon | I had that problem too, and I ended up having some out. I got tired of how limited I was of what I could eat. I was living on protein shakes for awhile until I got some out. It so hard to find the exact right fill!

I know the first month after my WHOPPER fill (Dr. words...lol) I lost 7 lbs. It has taken me the past 2 months to learn to slow down and eat smaller. I'm doing better with it. Toddler silverware had helped to alter how my intake is, thus...not as much PB. Good luck

| Super Slow Loser Club?????? If there is such a club I shoud be the 1st member. Even you slow losers are losing more than I am. I wad banded 02/02/07 and I have lost a total of 27 pounds and have had 8 fills to date. I have always been a "gym rat" and love to exercise I am definitely eating less, sometimes one meal per day. My doctor says me eating one meal a day is the problem and I should eat more. Frankly sometimes I just forget to eat because I don't feel hungry. I don't want to give up on my band just yet, but I can't help but to feel a little discouraged. Anyone out there with similar results.

City: PEPPERELL State: MA | Hi Dori,
You Nailed Me Right On The Head. I Too Have Had Multiple Fills Have Not Reached The Right Spot Yet. Have Lost 27 Pounds In A Year. Skip Meals Cause Too Busy Or Forget Which Was Never Ever A Problem But Is Great Now. But Again Not The Way To Do It So I Try To Get 3 Meals In And As Much Protein As Possible. So Yes I Am On The Same Boat. You Are Not Alone. I Do Need To Get To The Gym More And Cut Down On My Kids Trick Or Treat Candy. I Had A Fill Last Week And Got Instant Results But Now A Week Later I Still Can Get In A Good Amount Of Food So I'm Going Back To Get Another One. Good Luck And I'm Thinking Of You.

City: Plaucheville State: Louisiana | Dori, you are not alone. I was banded Dec. 2006 and to date I've lost 30 lbs. I exercise 3-5 times a week, I've had 6 fills in a 10cc VG band. It's hard but I know it will happen, just slower than I had expected. I find I do better when I eat high protein, very limited carbs. Hang in there, it will happen for us, just not as quickly as we'd like! |

City: South Texas, and Northern Maine State: Texas, Maine | righton. I just want to bump the thread up a bit. I am trying not to gain at this point. Ive not been to the gym in a month because of stuff going on with jobs etc...and ive been a bit depressed. im trying to watch what im eating, and its helped. usually this would have been a horrible gaining time but at least with my band and some restriction, i havent (yay) and thats somethign to be hopeful about i suppose!
i gotta get on the right track!

| thank you all for your replies it helps to feel that I am not alone. I hope that one day we can get this ball rolling a little faster. I'd hate to think that I endured surgery and have this foreign body inside of me with very little results. But I am keeping the faith and am waiting on my day :)

State: Oregon | At least drink a protein drink if you are not hungry. Skipping meals will definitely slow your weight loss down. If you like the library, take out the book Body for Life. I am sure you can get a used copy
on Amazon, but I am a fan of the library. His method works.

City: Dothan State: Al | I am soooo discouraged! Banded March 07 and currently I am down only 12 pounds! Talk about a SLOW loser. Just got another fill today which puts me at 3.75cc in a 4.0cc band. I know I am not eating the right foods but I am eating so much less. 12 pounds in 8 months, I just want to cry. |
