I'm not exactly sure what is causing my slow weight loss, but perhaps the lack of exercise. I hit a plateau for about two months, and then I lost 2 lbs. I also find that when I try to eat less, I don't lose. I may not be getting enough nutrients and then my body holds on to everything I eat. I have never really had a bad stuck episode. Maybe about five times since July 2006, but nothing severe. I have never PB'd or slimmed. I only have 2 cc in my band and will hopefully get another .5 cc this coming week. Any weightloss at this point is a good thing, I just don't want to go back to where I started.

Hi, i was banded january 2007 and was pretty freaked out about fills as i thought the pain of food getting stuck would just get worse. turns out, it helped - my first fill was to 4cc and a week later to 7.2cc using fluoro - i feel great, food is stuck less, losing steady.

i think fluoro is important - the needle is inserted and you drink a thick liquid in slow sips then watch it go down. the dr. injects more saline and the liquid slows more etc etc until you have a nice full pouch and slow emptying. i just couldn't look down at the needle but it was painfree with a topic freezing.

also, i live in canada and no one near me does fills so i go back to puerto vallarta for them - thank goodness i have family living in the area. i really wanted the fill to make a difference, and to last. so far, three months, 30 lbs.

it's just getting nice here so biking and walking are good. good luck denise

Geepers, I am sorry to see that there are others like me who aren't losing.
Someone needs to tell us why so many people lose so well and then there are some of us who have so much trouble. I know I am doing everything they tell me to do. I am not eating junk food and I am working out every day.

Thank you. I need all the luck I can get. How is it possible that more
fill will make food get stuck less????? I am scared to death to get anymore.
That just doesn't make sense to me.

What you eat is probably not as important as how much you are eating. It doesn't sound like you are eating all that much. I eat whatever is around, just try to watch portion sizes. I cannot lose weight if I eat above 1300 calories a day.

What exersize are you doing? What does your doctor say? If you are exersizing and eating right, demand answers from your doctor. Lookup Vinesqueen on the forums here if you haven't...

Also, if you eat the exact same thing every day, mix it up a bit.

Sarah, can you give me some ideas of what you eat? I usually eat spinach salad with chicken breast for lunch. I use a salad dressing that is 10 calories for two Tablespoons. I usually put the chicken breast in the magic bullet so the pieces are tiny . That goes down well. I usually eat protein bar that is 150 calories for breakfast. For dinner I have some sort of lean meat and a small amount of veggies. I am not hungry between meals and I don't snack. I don't know why I am not lowing?!

I do a lot of cardio and weight training. I don't eat the same thing every day, although I do tend to eat the same breakfast. I am not a big breakfast eater. I never was. I tend to eat a protein bar for breakfast but sometimes I have Kashi Crunch cereal or Fiber one. For lunch and dinner it's different. Sometimes I eat a frozen South beach or Lean Cuisine sometimes iI make meatloaf out of ground turkey, etc.

I will try to find Vinesqueen. I guess that's a person that posts here?

I just went back and started reading the beginning of this thread and it really helped me. Even if I am a slow loser, I am not alone. Some of the slow losers
are still losing. I have to keep telling myself, even if I am a slow loser, I would have gained more by now. So in the end, even if I lose slowly, it's better than gaining quickly!

Denise
Thanks for your last post.......it is so frustrating to balance what you want in your heart with what you know in your head and then to top it off, check out these threads and think you're the only one who will fail with the band....In my gut I know it is absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself but I get so freaked out when I step on the scale and haven't lost in two months even though I am enjoying my "sweet spot", not overeating, choosing well and working my butt off in the gym...I am trying to look at this plateau as an opportunity - this thread is where I belong!

Thanks Terry, I know exactly how you feel. I was really excited today because after doing 20 min on the elliptical, then 20 min on the stair stepper, I was able to jog for 10 min on the treadmill. In the past, I have only been able to jog for 5 min and I watch the time and think I am going to die. This time I saw 5 min go by, and I felt really good and was able to keep going for 5 more min. So I finished up my hour of cardio with 10 min of jogging and 10 min of power walking.

It IS extremely frustrating to do all this, and eat right, drink the water, and never see the scale move. I have to keep telling myself that someday it's
going to go down again.

Hey slow losers

I've just moved to a gated community so there's a pool and great places to ride my bike. We'll see if this helps I can only lose if I STARVE! or about 900 cals. a day. My Dr. says my matabolosm is screwed! I don't know what else to do. We go out with friends and I can only eat a few bites...home isn't much better...what do you all try?

Thumbs up Hurray I found my site!

Hurray! I found a site that helps me! I was banded a year ago in Feb. and lost 40 lbs. and have just been sitting here. :faint: Although I have to say this was the first holiday season I have been through without gaining 20 lbs! I was encouraged by that. I thought I was a failure for only losing that much the first year but reading all of these postings have helped me. I know I need to start counting calories again. Letting myself nibble too much on things I don't need. Thanks to all of you for your input. I truly need to be inspired to go at this again! :clap2:

Red face Recently banded slow loser

Any one else having problems losing weight soon after being banded? I was banded 7 weeks ago and have not lost any weight for the past 4 weeks. I am losing inches, though.

I've been following all the rules, eating only heathly foods & protein shakes and exercising. I'm taking in 80+ gms of protein and about 1,000 - 1,200 calories. I've been been keeping a food journal.
My doctor suggested that I cut my exercise in half, as I was burning about 350 - 500 calories five times a week. I did that a week ago and still no weight loss. I am getting discouraged!

On the postive side, I'm feeling great. I've had no nausea and vomiting. I have good restriction and can only eat about 1/2 - 3/4 cup of food at a time.

Any one have a similar experience? Am I worrying too much?
I just really want this to work.
