I hope I qualify to be part of this group. I haven't lost a pound in 2 months!! :phanvan I'm not sure what is going on with this body of mine! I'm about to loose my mind.
I am now adjusting my diet to really push protein and increase my exercise so I'm hoping and praying that I will start dropping some weight.
I can't stand this anymore!!! I want to see something happen so bad! My husband tells me that I am obsessed!! Yes that's true - - - I have joined the Fat Patrol - I'm guarding every aspect!!! Got to make it go away!! :nervous

I am excited to report that since my new fill I have lost 2 lbs. The fill really made a difference. I am not as hungry as fast.
Ginger, are you watching your calories, and carbs? I know for me, one of the reasons I didn't lose the last 2 months was I would get discouraged from eating correctly and not losing. Then I would get mad and eat a bunch of sweets. I am hoping to get off that vicious cycle with this new fill.

I am sure that I fit into this group. I lost 10lb on the pre-op diet intended to shrink the size of the liver but since having the band fitted have lost 2lb. I had the band fitted on the 7th of Februrary 07 and today is the 13th of April so over 2 months have passed. I have had one fill as well so it isn't as if I have just had my band and no fill. I am totally frustrated. Going for my 2nd fill on the 4th of May and can't wait, hoping it will give me the restriction I so desire. I know this is a pretty common problem and it is so good to know that I am not alone out there.

It is frustrating isnt it Ginger. When you make the decision to be banded you think it is going to be the miracle that you have been waiting for and when nothing seems to be happening is is the biggest let down. Everyone keeps saying that it is a case of keep getting filled until you reach the sweet spot and I accept that but it is still frustrating hardly losing anything. Hey Julie that is great about your getting to 230lb. It is brilliant to reach a point and thinking 'it is years since I have been this low in weight'. Keep up the good work. Hopefully us slower ones will be inspired to keep going.

Welcome Elizabeth! I know how frustrating it is. I went for 2 months not losing after my first fill. It basically did nothing except teach me to chew better so that food doesn't get stuck. I was still hungry all the time. This new fill has made a big difference. I told him to be aggresive with it and that I was tired of foolling around. I get full faster now and it stays with me longer. Before, I would get full fast but very hungry in two hours.
I have lost 3 lbs since my fill on Monday. I hope that isn't going to be all I lose until my next fill though.

Thanks Denise. Well I have also gone now for 2 months without losing anything. I had lost about 2lb but it has gone back on today AAAAHHHH! All I've learned is how to chew better also. When I went for my first fill I nagged the doctor to be aggressive and she assured me she had but the dietician then told me everyone asks for them to be aggressive but they just do the same every time. When I go for my next fill on the 4th of May it will be done by the surgeon who carried out the fitting of the band and I sense that he won't hold back when it comes to filling. He seems to be quite an aggressive type lol. Here's hoping!

Elizabeth, my surgeon that put my band on does my fills too. He put a lot in last Monday and I got scared that it was too much. I had him take a little bit out, and now I am sorry I did. I discovered the fill loosens up after a couple of days. The first two days I could hardly eat at all. Now I am back to eating like normal. This band is frustrating to learn.

I am thinking I am a part of this GROUP also. I started ON MY SCALES @ 251 then by surgery 242, which some how the DR SCALES were 239?? I am 5"6. I am now about 223. I was banded in Nov of 06. So according to my band DR I have only lost about 16#'s in 5 months. However I am very happy. I have lost from a 18/20 all the way down to SOME 14's :heh: ! I exercise 5-6 times a week, walk 3 days, eliptical 3 days for 30-40 minutes, weight training a 1/2 hour 3 days a week. I get comments often about my weight loss. BUT the funny thing is I have not lost that much weight... I am getting another fill tomorrow and was actually thinking UMM.. I am losing, I am getting smaller do I really want one? But to try and speed up the process because the lake is calling my name this summer I thought I would. I do snack too much on fairly healthy items but calories are calories! I am hoping this fill makes things go a bit faster! I have only had two fills so far, I am torn about my comfort level of enjoying life which I am able to do right now and trying to get this weight come off a bit faster. :paranoid

Count me in too. I started out at 230 in Feb. 2006 was banded May30 2006 and weighed 218. I am almost at my one year anniversary and I have only lost 16 pounds. I tried the high protein shakes but was told to stay away from that type of diet due to my health issues. I am more mobile than I used to be but I still don't have a regualr exercise routine. I was last filled in November 2006. That fill made it impossible for me to eat more than half a saucer of food (yes it was tough at first, but I made it through the holidays). I plan to have a fill soon but what can I do to jump start the weight loss process? I am at 202 which is a major plateau from me. The next one is 187 if my memory is correct. I am constantly being complimented on the amount of weight being loss and I am able to wear clothes that I havent' worn in 15 years (I have six sizes in my closet).
Is there anybody out there who has reached their goal who was off to a slow start?

I am most definetely a part of this group. My surgery was July 2006 and I lost 18 lbs right after surgery and stayed there for about 3 months. I rec'f 1st fill in Oct 2006, and lost about 4 lbs. I got a 2nd fill in Feb. 2007 and have lost 8 lbs, which is about a lb a week. I am planning on having a 3rd fill in May. I started exercising this past week, 3 days of low impact aerobics for 30 minutes, and 2 days of walking for 45 minutes. I think my biggest problem is wrong food choices. I would appreciate any suggestions or comments to help me out.

It would be nice if some of the others who aren't slow losers would come in here and give us advice. How can we get them to do that?

I would recommend starting a new thread on that topic. I think this thread should probably be kind of 'just us' if that makes any sense.

I am very frustrated too . I was banded 10/30/06 and have only lost about 39lbs. I have tried everything. The problem I have is the healthy food is impossible to tolerate(Meats, ect). If I am supposed to eat protein I am not sure how to get it down. Chips and ice cream go down fine, but I try to stay away. I get sick of soups. I am confused. TOO Tight? Not tight enough? Who knows! I know I need to exercise more.
