Swelling after fill

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the swelling to go down after you get a fill? I had a fill yesterday, came home ate refried beans was good, by dinner couldn't eat a thing. Same thing today only I cannot drink hardly any liquids, whatever I try to eat I have to vomit it up! This happened last fill I had and went and had some taken out, then nothing I was normal could eat normal and did not loose any weight. I just want to know how long is it going to take before I can eat something?

I haven't had a fill yet but I think getting a fill causes swelling and you should be on liquids for at least 24 hours before attempting to eat.

I have not had a fill yet, but from everything i have read, i am sticking to nothing but clear liquids and protein drinks for a solid 3 days after my fills. I have NO plans on getting stuck or PB'ing or throwing up. Oh my gosh, i so dread that. Sorry i don't have any help to offer you. I am so glad people like you talk about your experiences, even if it is too late to help you with it, you are helping others. :) hang in there .. it sounds like there's always some swelling after fills ... i hope you are able to eat soon ..

I usually stick to liquid and mushies for a day or two. At this point you might want to only take in liquids for awhile. If after a few days you still cant eat, maybe you should call your Dr. You may be too tight.

My doc is the clear liquids for 3 days then start on mushies etc....I had my first fill early morning on a Wednesday, and she said I could try and eat by Friday night...I did refried beans no problem. I had soup at hand...tomatoe that day @ 2:00 but up until then it was broth, popsicles s/f of course... and herbal tea...I needed protein by Thursday night because I had a headache...so I had a clear protein drink (isopure) yuk...but it got rid of the headache....good luck!

Try drinking some hot tea in the morning or .5 hr before eating your meal. That should help loosen up your band. Since getting my first fill I have not been able to eating without food getting stuck but drinking a cup of tea in the morning helps. I feel like I have good restrictions and do not want to go get an unfill for fear of the dr taking too much and not losing weight.
