Second fill....still on liquids

Ok....just wanted to get a few opinions here to make sure I am in the norm. I had my second fill on Wednesday and my doc says to stay on liquids for 48 hours after the fill. Here I am 5 days later and every time I try to eat something with some substance it gets stuck. Liquid things go down fine, just can't eat solids. Should I just wait it out a little longer or should I get an unfill? Just getting a little worried since it's been so long.

It sounds like you may be a bit too tight. Five days after a fill, any swelling, if any should have gone down by now and you should be able to eat. If you are following the bandster rules of taking tiny bites, chewing your food to mush and waiting a bit between bites but are still getting stuck, I would call your doctor and request a slight unfill.

It sounds to me like you need an unfill. You should be able to eat like Susan said if you are following all the bandster rules. Call your Dr. and schedule a slight unfill. You don't want to keep your fill to tight as it can cause problems along the way. Good Luck!

I think I'm in the same boat. Had a fill last Thursday- 1cc. As always, they had me drink before I left and I had no problems. Since then, I've only been able to do liquids and very slow at that......a couple sips, wait 5 min, couple sips more. If I take more than a couple, it hurts. Solid food-no way. My chest even hurt for the first day like someone was sitting on it. I was all set to get an un-fill scheduled this week but now I'm debating on holding out a couple more days. After my last fill it took me about 2 weeks to adjust and I always seem to loosen up after a few weeks (which you might too). My only concern is when I drink I feel a burning sensation in my chest and I'm worried does this mean it's too tight? I don't want to cause erosion but don't want to get an un-fill and then a couple weeks later need another fill. I was thinking just 1/4 of a cc out might be the best, but don't know what to do really! I could call my doctor, but they aren't too helpful over the phone! It's so hard to tell if it's really overfill or finally good restriction!?

Have you stayed on liquids for a few days following the last stuck episode. Each time you get stuck you get a little swollen so I would try that but if that fails go get an unfill.

Just wanted to update everyone. I called my doc and they said I can come in for a slight unfill if I feel like I need it. She will be out of town next week so I will give it until Thursday. I was able to eat something solid at lunch without any problems so maybe I take just a little extra time to heal.

Realmccoy....if you are having problems with liquids I would definately go see your doc. I haven't had a problem at all with liquids or anything soft...just solid stuff. Keep us updated!
